That quote by Nolito after our 3-1 win against Celta just perfectly described what a swansong Keylor Navas has been on this season. The most number of clean sheets this season, going above 400 minutes unbreached early this season in La Liga, no goals conceded in Champions League so far, are just living proofs why Keylor has easily been Real Madrid’s best player this season.

After a failed transfer to acquire David De Gea in which Keylor was used as a bait, things have gone uphill for both the players involved. Though DDG has carried on the form from last year, Keylor too has been on the same high level. If given a closer look, Keylor has been doing what DDG did most of last season. Keylor has really saved our asses in every game this season, let it be PSG, Atletico, or even Granada for that matter. Had it not been his crucial saves, we would have been at the opposite end of the result.

Right now in his absence things haven’t looked much satisfactory. Kiko Casilla has done great saves and given good performance against Las Palmas but against Sevilla he wasn’t that great and we lost our first game. Really missed Keylor in that game. The goals would have been less than the result had he been there. Hopefully we get to see him in the next game against FC Barcelona.

He’s under rehabilitation for the game and would definitely be fit for the derby. All and much more will be expected to carry the form he has been in most of the season. But will he against a Barcelona side firing from all cylinders? Let’s hope for the best.
