Almost a year ago, a news had shaken cricketing world regarding the sacking of Kevin Pietersen by the England Cricket Board. The news had not only had an impact on KP himself, but also on England Cricket ever since that incident took place. England have suffered a string of series losses, including a shameful early exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, meanwhile for KP, it has been filled with ups and downs.

He was bought for a massive sum of 9 cr. by Delhi Daredevils of the 2014 edition of Pepsi IPL. He was made captain upon arrival with Dinesh Karthik being his deputy, but nothing came out of it as Delhi finished last for the second successive time, releasing KP and Karthik in the process. Not only was his captaincy doubted, but his batting had failed miserably too. Then he plied his trade back in England with Surrey, unfortunately he failed there too. And lost his contract at Surrey due to dispute with the County officials.

His dismal run continued when he signed for St. Lucia Zouks in the Caribbean Premier League. All this poor form came to a halt when he signed for Melbourne Stars in the 4th edition of the Big Bash League in Australia. He had scored 68 in his first game, slowly regaining his touch and scoring a sum of 324 runs, the third highest run getter of the competition.

A year later, he finds himself in the same position at where it all began. He was signed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 8th edition of IPL. But this news came with a ray of hope in his career by the change of setup in the England Cricket Board. A new chairman was appointed and hinted at a possible return for KP. He took it with full confidence and canceled his contract with SRH to return to County Cricket. He has signed for Surrey and being their key performer over the years, Surrey buried the hatchets and welcomed KP with open arms.

Only time will tell whether will KP be welcomed back by England, or this can be the new twist in the tale in his England saga. We wish KP does well to earn an England recall and proves his critics wrong with some good performances.
